Boutique law firm in Salt Lake City, Utah looking for filing clerk extraordinaire starting April 2019. A person to join our team in a happy work environment. We are looking for a professional and responsible person who can work independently and methodically handling less that fancy tasks. Familia America, LLC is lead by Gloria Cardenas, an experienced immigration lawyer handling family-based immigration and representing immigrants in removal proceedings. No prior filing clerk experience required. We will teach you exactly how we would like things done. We only require some working understanding of Spanish to greet clients only.
-Preparing filings for immigration court and government counsel
-Preparing and sending FedEx and other mail
-Creating physical files to digital files
-Pulling files for meetings and returning them to where they belong
-Putting away receipts notices and other documents in clients files
-Pulling files from storage (periodically)
-Creating files for new clients
-Sorting and scanning notices and mail to staff
-Updating digital closed files list
-Greeting Clients and informing office staff of their arrival
-Ordering Supplies (especially assuring that coffee is well-stocked at all times)
-Picking up mail from p.o. box
-Scheduling and coordinating vendors (periodically)
-Shedding private documents
-Weekly accounting of accounts receivables
Punctual and professional at all times
Inherently methodical and organized
Must like deadlines and meeting them
Being a quiet person is perfectly fine and even preferred
Good sense of humor required
Working understanding of Spanish
Sometimes working alone in the office required
Proficient with Google email, drive, docs, hangouts, Microsoft word & excel
Ability to take direction from many staff members
Need own transportation in the event that filings must be driven to the court or the post office/federal express office. (on an as needed basis only)
25-30 hours per week
Must be able to work on Tuesdays until early evening and every other Saturday from 8-3 required.
Will have a personal office.
Hourly rate range: $11-$13 depending on skills and experience.
