Job Description: The Donation Intake and Laundry Associate is responsible for receiving, sorting, organizing and issuing donations and supplies in the donation room at Gail Miller Resource Center. They will also provide the facility with laundry services including washing bedding and cloth items from the kitchen. Responsibilities include: 1. Sort donations and keep an inventory of donated items. 2. Maintain organization and cleanliness of the donation room. 3. Provide custodial support to the Maintenance Supervisor as needed. 4. Ensure that the laundry is washed, dried, folded, and returned. 5. Operate laundry machines and dryers, washing cloth items from the kitchen, client towels, and client bedding. 6. Maintain cleanliness of the laundry room. 7. Inform Maintenance Supervisor of equipment issues. 8. Attend regular meetings with Maintenance Supervisor. 9. Other duties as assigned. Work Environment – inside/outside, office, warehouse, noise, temperature, etc. 1. Clean bathrooms when needed. 2. Clean up of human biohazard materials, (vomit, excrement, soiled clothing and blankets). 3. Properly dispose of drug paraphernalia when found. Physical Demands including bending, sitting, lifting and driving 1. Ability to bend, stretch, push, and pull frequently. 2. Ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet throughout shift. 3. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Skills, knowledge and abilities: 1. Demonstrate the ability to perform the essential functions of the position as outlined in the description above. 2. Be reliable and have a strong work ethic. 3. Be able to work independently. 4. Have strong organizational skills. 5. Ability to maintain records and logs. Education, training and or experience: 1. High school diploma or GED. Background Screen/BCI requirement 1. Must pass a national BCI/FBI background check. Licenses, certifications and credentials 1. None. Position status and expected schedule 1. 40 hours per week Monday through Friday, flexibility needed for possible weekends and evening shifts.
