    Location: Catholic Community Services of Utah, 242 W Paramount Ave, SLC UT 84115 Status: Non-exempt, Full-time, with benefits Salary: $13-14/hr DOE Catholic Community Services of Utah provides help and creates hope for thousands of people of all beliefs who are most in need in our community through Migration and Refugee Services, Homeless Services and CCS of Northern Utah programs. Job Description: Assist the day-to-day client intake activities and related services at the Paramount Resource Center. Responsibilities include: 1. Make sure clients scan-in at the Intake desk. 2. Make sure clients without scan cards complete intake 3. Provide quality customer service to our clients. 4. Observe and assist in ensuring expectations and procedures are being followed. 5. Provide clear and specific information to the clients and explain the expectations and procedures. 6. Engage with security guards, keeping them informed if safety issues arise. 7. Assist in resolving conflicts which may arise among clients. 8. Maintain accurate records and logs, write incident reports where appropriate. 9. Keep the Housing Advocate Supervisor advised of any information or developments, which may have an impact on the Agency. 10. Exercise a “team effort” with both staff and volunteers. 11. Clean and maintain the main room and bathrooms when the janitor is not available, inform Housing Advocate Supervisor of issues or special needs as they arise. 12. Enter data into HMIS. 13. Answer phones and take messages. 14. Provide occasional crisis intervention; communicate with community resources such as law enforcement and EMS. 15. Use the database to make bed reservations for clients when appropriate. 16. Other duties as assigned. Work Environment – inside/outside, office, warehouse, noise, temperature, etc. 1. Clean bathrooms when needed. 2. Clean up of human biohazard materials, vomit, excrement, soiled clothing, and blankets. 3. Properly dispose of drug paraphernalia when found. Physical Demands including bending, sitting, lifting and driving 1. Ability to move around a large room and yard frequently each hour. 2. Ability to work on feet for extended hours. 3. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. 4. Salt walkways during winter months. Skills, knowledge and abilities: 1. Ability to get along with people. 2. Ability to approach problem situations with tact and sensitivity. 3. Ability to listen and consider issues, options, and alternatives to solving a problem. 4. Must possess the personal qualities of integrity, compassion, and empathy, which encourage the trust, and confidence of others. 5. Proficiency in oral and written communication. 6. Must be able to maintain confidentiality. 7. Ability to assert authority with sincerity and respect of others. Education, training and or experience: 1. Ability to write and communicate effectively in English. 2. Experience in computer software including, MS Word, Excel, and the internet. 3. High School Diploma or GED preferred. Background Screen/BCI requirement 1. Must pass a national BCI/FBI background check. Licenses, certifications and credentials 1. None. Position status and expected schedule 1. 40 hours per week.
